PVR announces results for Quarter Ended June 30, 2018

PVR Limited today announced its audited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter ended 30thJune, 2018

The revenues for quarter ended June, 2018 were Rs. 700 crores as compared to Rs. 653 crores during the corresponding period of last year, witnessing a growth of 7 per cent. Consolidated EBITDA for the quarter was Rs. 141 crores as against Rs. 131 crores in the same period last year, witnessing a growth of 8%. EBITDA margin for the quarter was robust at 20.2%. Consolidated PAT for the quarter was Rs. 52 crores as compared to Rs. 44 crores during the corresponding period of last year, a growth of 17%.

The box office revenues for the quarter were up by 12% from Rs. 343 crores to Rs. 385 crores led by an 8% growth in admits. F&B revenues were up by 23% from Rs. 165 crores to Rs. 203 crores. Advertising revenues grew by 6% to 72crores, up from 67 crores in Q1 last year.

During the current financial year, PVR added 9 new screens across 2 properties and now operates a network of 634 screens spread over 136 properties in 53 cities across the country. The company intends to add 90 screens in FY 18-19.

During the quarter, PVR also entered into a MoU with Dubai based AI-Futtaim group for jointly developing Cinema Business in the MENA region. Al-Futtaim is #1 on Forbes 50 Biggest Private Companies in the Arab World 2018.

Commenting on the results and performance, Mr. Ajay Bijli, Chairman cum Managing Director, PVR Ltd said, “We are extremely pleased with the performance of the business for Q1 FY 18-19 with strong all round performance of content at the box office. Movies across languages and genre performed well, which augurs well for the overall industry. We are continuing to expand our presence in the Indian market and deliver world class cinema going experience to our patrons.”
